Yoruba activist Sunday Igboho has reportedly launched a new security initiative known as Iru Ekun Security Network, also referred to as Ija Ekun (Tiger Base).
According to the announcement, the initiative is expected to recruit over 50,000 personnel aimed at strengthening security and protecting communities across the South-West region against insecurity and insurgent threats.
The group is described as a community-based security structure, which organizers say will operate subject to Federal Government approval and within relevant legal frameworks.
