"OSUN IS NOT IMO STATE": DAVIDO FIRES BACK AFTER GOVERNOR HOPE UZODINMA TELLS HIM TO "PREPARE TO EMPLOY HIS UNCLE AS A DANCER"
Tension surrounding the upcoming August 15 Osun State governorship election has escalated into a high-stakes verbal warfare after Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma launched a direct political attack on Governor Ademola Adeleke and his nephew, Afrobeats megastar David Adeleke (Davido).
Speaking on behalf of the All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign machinery, Governor Uzodinma dismissed claims of electoral intimidation and urged the global music star to channel his energy into preparing for his uncle's political exit rather than issuing emotional public appeals.
"Rather than attempting to influence Governor Hope Uzodinma through emotional appeals, Davido should concentrate on helping his uncle prepare for life after office, as the people of Osun appear ready to cast their votes massively in favour of the APC candidate. Perhaps, Davido should also begin making preparations to officially sign his uncle as a dancer in his musical band, because judging by the mood of the electorate, he may well be out of a political job after the August 15 governorship election."
Davido Hits Back: "Osun Will Resist Any Supreme Court Miracle"
Refusing to back down, the award-winning music icon delivered a scathing response, warning Uzodinma and the APC against attempting any electoral manipulation or political interference in Osun State.
Highlighting the overwhelming popularity of Governor Ademola Adeleke, Davido declared that the people of Osun State remain resolute in protecting their democratic mandate at the polls.
"Governor Hope Uzodinma should focus on fixing the massive security crisis and governance failure in Imo State instead of coming to Osun to talk trash. Osun is not Imo State where someone who came fourth suddenly became governor through Supreme Court tactics. The people of Osun elected Governor Ademola Adeleke overwhelmingly, and we will defend our votes again on August 15. Nobody can steal the mandate of Osun people!"
The heated clash between the state governor and the global superstar has further heightened political stakes across Osun State, setting the stage for an intensely contested governorship election as both the PDP and APC mobilize heavily for the August 15 showdown.
