Statement Denies Arrest Warrant Against Former Minister Uche Geoffrey Nnaji, Describes Report as Misleading
The media office of former Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Chief Uche Geoffrey Nnaji, has issued a strong rebuttal to a recent publication, describing claims that a court ordered his arrest as false and misleading.
In a statement signed by his spokesperson, Dr. Robert Ngwu, the office maintained that Nnaji is not in hiding and has never evaded any law enforcement agency.
It stated that the former minister has lived openly in both Asokoro, Abuja, and Independence Layout, Enugu, for decades, adding that his residences are well known to the public and authorities.
The statement further clarified that neither Nnaji nor his legal team, led by Chief Wole Olanipekun (SAN), has received any invitation, summons, warrant, or official communication from the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).
It also noted that the former minister is already before the Federal High Court in a case he personally filed seeking judicial determination on issues relating to his academic records and the release of his transcript.
According to the statement, the ongoing case is still pending before the court and has not been decided.
The media office also accused the publication of persistent sensational reporting since October 2025, claiming that repeated reports have misrepresented his political and legal matters.
It urged the public to disregard what it described as politically motivated misinformation and to allow the courts to determine the matter, stressing that Chief Nnaji remains committed to the rule of law and due process.
The statement was signed by Dr. Robert Ngwu, spokesperson to Chief Uche Geoffrey Nnaji, on June 13, 2026.
