PDP Akpofu Ward Suspends Chief Samson Chukwu Nnamani Over Alleged Anti-Party Activities
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Akpofu Ishie-Enu/Amagunze Ward in Nkanu East Local Government Area of Enugu State, has officially announced the suspension of Chief Samson Chukwu Nnamani over alle anti-party activities.
According to a suspension letter dated 22nd May, 2026 and signed by the Ward Chairman, Hon. Chidi Animba Emmanuel, the decision followed alleged publications circulated by Chief Nnamani against another governorship aspirant, Chief Uche Geoffrey Nnaji, within the state party structure.
The ward leadership stated that the actions were considered contrary to the principles of party unity, discipline, and peaceful coexistence as provided in the PDP Constitution (2017 as amended). It further noted that the conduct was capable of disrupting the smooth operation of the party.
Citing Section 58(1)(b), (f), and (h) of the PDP Constitution, the ward executive committee exercised its authority under Section 57(3) to suspend Chief Samson Chukwu Nnamani from the party in the ward for a period e month, effective 22nd May, 26.
The suspension letter also emphasized that while internal political engagement and constructive criticism are part of democratic practice, actions capable of causing disunity or undermining party structure would not be tolerated.
Political observers have described the development as an indication of the party's resolve to maintain discipline and internal cohesion ahead of future elections.
The letter was copied to the PDP State Chairman, Hon. Vitus Okechi, the National Secretariat of the PDP in Abuja, and the Chairman of the PDP Enugu State Disciplinary Committee, Barr. Emeka Abbah.
