NECO RELEASES 2026 SSCE INTERNAL RESULTS: 58.67% SCORE FIVE CREDITS IN ENGLISH AND MATHS AS EXAM MALPRACTICE DROPS BY 64%
The National Examinations Council (NECO) has officially released the results of the 2026 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) for internal candidates.
Announcing the performance metrics at the council’s headquarters in Minna, Niger State, NECO Registrar and Chief Executive, Prof. Dantani Wushishi, confirmed that the processing and release were completed 63 days after the conclusion of the final examination paper.
Prof. Wushishi highlighted that the significant reduction in examination malpractice—dropping from 3,878 cases in 2025 to 1,406 cases in 2026—was achieved through intensified supervision and deep monitoring by members of the Governing Board, management, and senior staff.
Expressing gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for reappointing him for a second term in office, the Registrar praised the council's staff for maintaining high ethical standards, intellectual rigor, and administrative discipline throughout the examination cycle. The official release ceremony concluded with the presentation of medals to NECO staff who represented the council in various national sports competitions in 2026.
