Enugu PDP Suspends Governorship Aspirant Sampson Nnamani for One Month Over Alleged Misconduct
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Enugu State has reportedly suspended Chief Sampson Chukwu Nnamani from the party for a period of one (1) month over alleged gross misconduct and anti-party activities.
According to the party's disciplinary committee, the decision followed allegations that the aspirant engaged in actions considered detrimental to party unity, including circulating publications perceived as defamatory against another aspirant and criticizing the party's screening process.
The matter has also been referred to the disciplinary committee for further investigation and possible additional sanctions.
During the proceedings, the chairman of the PDP disciplinary committee, Barr. Emeka Abbah, was quoted as outlining the allegations, stating that the actions in question were contrary to provisions of the party's constitution and warranted disciplinary action.
The petition presented to the committee alleged that Chief Sampson Nnamani circulated negative publications involving party stakeholders and publicly criticized internal party decisions regarding candidate clearance.
The party stated that the suspension is intended to serve as a warning to members to uphold discipline and maintain respect for internal processes while the matter is further reviewed.
