Enugu Councillors Reportedly Express Frustration Over Alleged Unfulfilled Promises After Lion Building Visit
Reports from Enugu State indicate growing dissatisfaction among some councillors following a reported visit by over 260 elected councillors to the Lion Building in Enugu.
According to sources, the councillors reportedly visited the Government House to seek clarification and follow-up on alleged commitments relating to salary increments, official vehicles, and severance packages.
However, the councillors allegedly claimed they were unable to gain access to meet Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah during the visit.
Some of the councillors reportedly stated that they remained outside the premises for several hours before eventually leaving the area disappointed.
The development has since generated reactions within political circles in Enugu State, with discussions emerging around the relationship between grassroots political stakeholders and the state leadership.
There are also reports that some affected councillors expressed frustration over what they described as delayed attention to their concerns ahead of the 2027 political season.
Political observers, however, have urged restraint and constructive engagement, emphasizing the importance of dialogue and communication between government officials and elected grassroots representatives.
As discussions continue, many stakeholders are calling for peaceful resolution and improved communication channels to address concerns raised by local government representatives.
