APC Unveils National Campaign Council for Ekiti Governorship Election, Uzodimma Heads Key Sub-Committee
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially inaugurated its National Campaign Council ahead of the forthcoming governorship election in Ekiti State, signaling the party's determination to retain control of the state.
According to details released by the party, the council will be chaired by Uba Sani, while Godswill Akpabio will serve as Vice Chairman.
The campaign structure brings together an extensive team of serving governors, former governors, principal officers of the National Assembly, and other influential APC leaders from across Nigeria.
Of particular note is the appointment of Hope Uzodimma, who emerged as the only governor from the South-East geopolitical zone entrusted with the chairmanship of a major sub-committee within the National Campaign Council.
Political observers view the appointment as a significant recognition of Uzodimma's growing influence within the APC's national leadership structure and his continued role in the party's strategic political operations.
The composition of the council reflects the APC's strategy of deploying experienced political figures and key stakeholders to coordinate campaign activities, grassroots mobilization, voter outreach, and election-day operations ahead of the Ekiti governorship contest.
Party leaders expressed confidence that the campaign council's blend of experience, political reach, and organizational capacity will strengthen the APC's chances at the polls.
The Ekiti governorship election is expected to attract significant national attention, with major political parties already positioning themselves for what is anticipated to be a highly competitive contest.
