APC Crisis Brews in Enugu North as Aspirant Rejects Nsukka/Igbo Eze South Primary Outcome
Fresh tension has emerged within the All Progressives Congress in Enugu North Senatorial District following a dispute over the party’s primary election for the Nsukka/Igbo Eze South Federal Constituency.
One of the aspirants, Hon. Barr. Emeka Silas Agbara, has openly rejected the declared outcome of the primary election, alleging that no valid voting process took place in parts of the constituency.
In a video shared on social media, Agbara claimed that party members in the Ehalumona area waited until the official closing time of 4 p.m. without any election being conducted.
According to him, he was surprised to later hear that a winner had been announced despite what he described as the absence of an actual electoral process.
The aspirant further argued that the situation amounts to a violation of both the Electoral Act and the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, warning that the matter could be taken to court.
The development has sparked concern among party members and political observers, with many warning that unresolved internal disputes could deepen divisions within the APC structure in Enugu North ahead of the 2027 elections.
Efforts were reportedly ongoing to obtain further clarification and responses from party officials and other stakeholders connected to the primary exercise.
Political analysts say the controversy may test the internal conflict resolution capacity of the APC in Enugu State, particularly as competition for party tickets intensifies across constituencies.
As reactions continue, stakeholders are closely watching how the party leadership will address the growing disagreement surrounding the primary election process.
