YOU CANNOT BE A TECHNOCRAT AND A VOID PARSON RESPONSIBILITIES”: APC WARNS TINUBU’S APPOINTEES TO MOBILIZE FOR PARTY OR RESIGN

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has delivered a firm directive to all cabinet ministers, heads of extra-ministerial departments, and political appointees serving under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, warning that the era of hiding under the guise of being "technocrats" to avoid party politics is over. According to the party leadership, any appointee unwilling to actively mobilize support, engage with grassroots structures, and defend the policies of the governing party should honorably resign from office.

​Addressing newsmen after a strategic stakeholders' meeting, high-ranking representatives of the party emphasized that political appointments are derived from electoral victories secured by the party's machinery. Consequently, appointees cannot remain aloof from the political activities that sustain the administration. The leadership stressed that political office holders are expected to leverage their positions to build goodwill, finance local party engagements, and promote the achievements of the Renewed Hope Agenda within their respective constituencies and states.

​The party warned that it will no longer tolerate situational loyalty or non-partisan detachment from individuals holding executive privileges. Moving forward, the APC plans to institute a performance monitoring mechanism to evaluate political appointees not only on their administrative output but also on their contributions to party unity, grassroots mobilization, and electoral readiness ahead of upcoming elections.
