TRAGEDY IN AGBANI: SIX ESUT STUDENTS KILLED IN FATAL ROAD ACCIDENT AFTER EXAMINATIONS
Tragedy struck the university town of Agbani in Nkanu West Local Government Area as six students of the Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT) reportedly lost their lives in a fatal road crash shortly after completing their examinations.
Eye-witnesses and fellow students reported that the victims were commuting back from campus after sitting for their papers when the vehicle was involved in a violent collision along the primary Chikabest Filling Station Agbani route.
The news sent shockwaves through the university environment, turning what was intended to be a moment of academic relief and celebration into a period of deep mourning across off-campus student hubs and residential hostels.
First responders and local commuters rushed to the scene to assist, but six occupants were confirmed dead from the severe impact of the crash.
"This is damn painful and heartbreaking for the entire ESUT family. You complete your exams expecting to step into the next phase of life, only for everything to end in a single moment on the road. The entire Agbani community is in mourning."
In the wake of the devastating loss, fellow students, faculty members, and youth representatives across social media platforms have expressed immense grief and extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families. Meanwhile, commuters and student union representatives have urged road safety agencies and transportation authorities to enforce stricter speed controls and improve road safety measures along the high-traffic Agbani-Enugu corridor to prevent further tragic losses.
