Tinubu Appoints 39-Year-Old Professor as New JAMB Registrar
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reportedly appointed Professor Segun Aina, a 39-year-old computer engineering academic from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, as the new Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board.
According to reports, the appointment comes ahead of the conclusion of the tenure of the current Registrar, Professor Ishaq Oloyede, whose second term is expected to end on July 31, 2026.
Professor Aina is expected to assume office following the expiration of Oloyede’s tenure, marking a leadership transition at the national examination body responsible for university admissions in Nigeria.
The development has attracted attention across the education sector due to the relatively young age of the appointee and his academic background in computer engineering.
Further official confirmation and details regarding the transition process are expected from the appropriate government authorities.
