Strict Policy Enforcement: NYSC Declares NERD Clearance Mandatory for All Prospective Corps Members
The National Youth Service Corps directorate has introduced a strict administrative mandate aimed at auditing academic credentials and streamlining the onboarding process for upcoming service batches. In an official public notice released across its verified media channels, the scheme announced that obtaining a NERD clearance has now been made compulsory for all Prospective Corps Members.
As displayed in the official campaign flier, the management explicitly stated that without a verified NERD clearance certificate, there will be no deployment or participation in the NYSC program. The graphic features a serving corps member holding a sample clearance document equipped with a unique identification QR code, highlighting a shift toward digital tracking to eradicate certificate forgery and institutional discrepancies.
The management has strongly urged all graduating students from accredited institutions to take immediate steps to obtain their verification documents early to avoid unnecessary delays during the general mobilization pool. According to the guidelines outlined in document, this directive applies universally to all PCMs, and the enforcement will be absolute at all orientation camps across the country.
By integrating the National Education Research Database into the pre-mobilization checklist, the NYSC intends to establish a more transparent verification system. Prospective corps members are advised to utilize the designated digital portals to fulfill the requirements swiftly, as the management maintains a zero-tolerance policy for any individuals attempting to enter the orientation camps without the mandatory clearance certificate.
