Police Arrest Officer Over Viral Death Threat Video in Anambra State
The Nigeria Police Force has reportedly arrested Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Newton Isokpehi following a viral video in which he allegedly issued violent threats against passengers in a commercial bus.
According to reports, the officer, who is attached to the Anambra State Command and stationed in Awka, was seen in the footage making threatening remarks after a confrontation in a bus, warning that he would harm passengers if anyone recorded him.
In response to the incident, police authorities have ordered his immediate arrest and directed that he undergo a drug test as part of ongoing internal investigations into his conduct.
The Nigeria Police Force is expected to take further disciplinary action based on the outcome of the investigation, while the video continues to generate public concern over professional conduct within the force.
Authorities have urged calm and assured that the matter will be thoroughly investigated in line with established disciplinary procedures.
