PDP Holds Successful House of Representatives Primaries in Enugu as Ogbu and Okoro Emerge Flag Bearers
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has successfully conducted its House of Representatives primary elections for two federal constituencies in Enugu State ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In the Udenu/Igboeze North Federal Constituency, Hon. Ikechukwu Ogbu, popularly known as “Ogbugo,” emerged victorious after a keenly contested primary election. His emergence was greeted with celebrations from supporters who described him as a grassroots mobilizer and a strong advocate for community development.
Supporters praised Ogbu for his consistent engagement with local communities, describing him as a representative of the “downtrodden and the voice of the voiceless.” His victory was widely celebrated across Udenu and Igboeze North, with party faithful expressing confidence in his ability to secure victory in the general election.
Similarly, in the Igbo-Etiti/Uzo-Uwani Federal Constituency, Engr. Chijioke Okoro also secured the PDP ticket after a successful primary exercise. His emergence was welcomed by party members and supporters who commended the peaceful conduct of the election process.
Party stakeholders in both constituencies described the primaries as transparent and credible, noting that the outcomes reflect the growing internal cohesion within the PDP in Enugu State.
The two candidates are expected to begin full-scale consultations and grassroots mobilization as they prepare for the 2027 general elections, with party leaders urging unity and collective support.
Political observers say the successful conclusion of the primaries further strengthens the PDP’s position in Enugu State ahead of the upcoming electoral cycle.
