JUST IN: Gov. Hope Uzodimma Reportedly Gifts ₦1 Million Each to Imo Returnees from South Africa
Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State has reportedly gifted ₦1 million each to Imo indigenes who recently returned from South Africa following repatriation exercises.
The gesture was said to be part of the state government’s support package aimed at helping the returnees reintegrate into society and rebuild their livelihoods after their deportation.
According to reports, the beneficiaries are among Nigerians recently evacuated from South Africa amid ongoing immigration enforcement and repatriation measures targeting undocumented migrants.
The initiative is also seen as part of the state government’s broader effort to cushion the economic and social impact on returning citizens, while encouraging them to engage in productive ventures upon their return.
However, official confirmation and full details of the distribution process are still being awaited as of the time of filing this report.
