JOINT SECURITY OPERATIVES RESCUE TWO KIDNAPPED VICTIMS AFTER GUN BATTLE IN ENUGU

Joint security operatives operating under the Enugu State Police Command have rescued two kidnapped victims unhurt following a fierce gun battle at a kidnappers' hideout.

​According to official operational details released by Command Spokesperson SP Daniel Ndukwe, the rescue was accomplished through coordinated intelligence-led operations involving police tactical units, the Nigerian Army, Enugu State Forest Guards, and local vigilantes. Upon tracking the suspects, security forces engaged the gang in a firefight, forcing the kidnappers to abandon their captives and flee with suspected gunshot injuries.

​Following the tactical breakthrough, security forces recovered several exhibits left behind at the criminals' enclave, including:

​15 rounds of live 7.62mm AK-47 ammunition

​Multiple mobile phones and accessories

​Cash recovered from the scene

​Personal effects and related incriminating items

​Both rescued victims were immediately provided with medical evaluation and care before being safely reunited with their families.

​The State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Enugu, has commenced a comprehensive investigation to trace fleeing members of the syndicate, while joint mop-up operations continue across nearby forest axes.
