Gunmen Abduct Twin Children and Sister of Former Power Minister Bayo Adelabu in Ibadan
Unknown gunmen have reportedly abducted the twin children and sister of former Minister of Power and All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial aspirant in Oyo State, Bayo Adelabu.
According to reports, the incident occurred on Wednesday, June 3, in the Challenge area of Ibadan South West Local Government Area of Oyo State.
A media aide to the politician, Femi Awogboro, confirmed the development, stating that Adelabu’s younger sister and her twin children identified as Peter and Paul were taken by the attackers while leaving their residence at Elewura, Challenge.
“They were going out this morning from Elewura to link the express when they were attacked and whisked away by unknown kidnappers,” the aide was quoted as saying.
The abduction has triggered renewed concerns over security in Oyo State, coming weeks after a separate incident in which over 40 pupils and teachers were reportedly abducted in the state.
Security agencies are yet to issue an official statement on the incident or confirm rescue operations at the time of filing this report.
Residents have continued to call for urgent intervention to address rising cases of kidnapping and insecurity affecting communities across the region.
