GAME CHANGER: CHIEF UCHE NNAJI FORMALLY UNVEILS PHILANTHROPIST CHIJIOKE PETER UGWU AS PDP RUNNING MATE FOR 2027

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate for Enugu State, Chief Uche Geoffrey Nnaji, has officially announced Chief Chijioke Peter Ugwu as his running mate ahead of the 2027 governorship election.

The declaration, issued through an official statement signed by Dr. Robert Ngwu, Special Adviser to Chief Uche Nnaji, marks a pivotal shift toward inclusive, enterprise-driven governance. By selecting Chief Chijioke Peter Ugwu—an accomplished entrepreneur, employer of labor, philanthropist, and respected traditional chief from Nguru in Nsukka Local Government Area—the PDP ticket establishes a powerful strategic balance between Enugu East and Enugu North Senatorial Districts.

A Philosophy graduate from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), Chief Ugwu is the founder of Windemol Maritime and Logistics Limited, along with multiple successful ventures across contracting, consultancy, tourism, and hospitality that have created extensive employment for young Nigerians. Through the Felistas Foundation, established in honor of his late mother, he has built a strong reputation for social intervention, providing scholarships and educational supplies to pupils from underprivileged backgrounds.

Unveiling his choice, Chief Uche Nnaji stated that Chief Chijioke Ugwu brings practical experience, integrity, and a deep understanding of the challenges facing young people and local business owners across the state. He emphasized that the choice reflects a firm commitment to opening the political space to competent citizens with fresh ideas rather than recycling familiar political names.

With Chief Chijioke Ugwu holding the traditional title of Eweluchi Bube Uzo I of Nguru Nsukka, his emergence has energized the grassroots across Nsukka and the broader state, cementing the Nnaji-Ugwu ticket as a formidable force ready to deliver real economic relief and new leadership for Ndi Enugu.
