In Enugu State, the ongoing crisis at the Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT) Teaching Hospital, Parklane, exposes a severe breakdown in state governance under Governor Peter Mbah.

​Despite repeated pledges made to the Association of Resident Doctors (ARD) at ESUT Teaching Hospital to address welfare concerns, hazard allowances, and facility equipment, resident doctors have been pushed into industrial action. The state administration’s focus on high-visibility infrastructure—such as re-paving established thoroughfares like Bisalla Road—stands in stark contrast to the quiet collapse of public health delivery.
