EXPERIENCE MEETS FRESH VISION: CHIEF UCHE NNAJI UNVEILS PHILANTHROPIST AND ENTREPRENEUR CHIEF CHIJIOKE PETER UGWU AS PDP DEPUTY GOVERNORSHIP CANDIDATE

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship ticket for Enugu State has gained immense momentum following the official unveiling of Chief Chijioke Peter Ugwu as the running mate to Chief Uche Geoffrey Nnaji (Nwakaibie) for the 2027 general elections.

Born in 1977 in the Umuezediko kindred of Nguru, Nsukka Local Government Area, Chief Chijioke Ugwu represents a new generation of competent, self-made leaders who have built successful enterprises from the ground up. After completing his primary and secondary education at Community Primary School, Nguru, and St. Teresa's College, Nsukka, he proceeded to the prestigious University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), where he earned his degree in Philosophy in 1999.

Following his National Youth Service, Chief Chijioke established himself in the private sector by founding Windsmol Maritime and Logistics Limited. His entrepreneurial drive led to further expansion across key economic sectors, establishing Sokabeli Nigeria Limited in contracting and consultancy, as well as Magik Stars Hospitality Nigeria Limited, building a solid track record in tourism, job creation, and human capital development.

Beyond his corporate success, Chief Chijioke’s commitment to social welfare is deeply rooted in community service. As co-founder and director of the Felistas Foundation—established in memory of his late mother—he has consistently driven educational development across Nsukka. His philanthropic footprint includes donating thousands of exercise books to primary school pupils across Nkpuno Ward and providing comprehensive scholarships to brilliant but financially disadvantaged students. In recognition of his selfless service, he was conferred with the prestigious chieftaincy title of Eweluchi Bube Uzo I of Nguru Nsukka by the traditional ruler of Nguru Town, His Royal Highness Igwe Linus Nosike Obayi.

The choice of Chief Chijioke Peter Ugwu signals a departure from recycling the same old political figures, offering a wider doorway into governance for entrepreneurs, young professionals, and ordinary citizens. Married to Mrs. Chinonye Ugwu and blessed with four children, his inclusion on the ticket creates a formidable regional and strategic balance, pairing Chief Uche Nnaji's leadership with Nsukka's vibrant grassroots energy.

The Uche Nnaji and Chijioke Ugwu joint ticket presents Ndi Enugu with a clear, transformative choice—a leadership built on real economic experience, private sector competence, and an unshakeable commitment to building a new, prosperous Enugu State for all.
