Desmond Elliot Alleges Violence During Primaries, Says He Remains in Race
Lawmaker and actor, Desmond Elliot, has raised allegations of violence and intimidation during the recent party primaries in his constituency.
According to him, some of his supporters and associates were allegedly attacked, with claims that his editor was also hospitalized following the incident.
He further alleged that individuals were brought in from outside the area to intimidate participants during the process.
Despite the claims, Elliot stated that he has not withdrawn from the contest and remains in the race for the Surulere 1 seat.
The allegations have generated reactions within political circles, with calls for calm and investigation into the conduct of the primaries.
Party officials are yet to issue an official response regarding the claims.
