CLARIFICATION REGARDING THE USE OF COMRADE KENNEDY IYERE’S PHOTOGRAPH
Following feedback received regarding our recent publication titled “Governance, Accountability, and the Electorate: Why Citizens Decide, Not Endorsements,” we consider it necessary to provide the following clarification.
The inclusion of a photograph showing Comrade Kennedy Iyere with Governor Peter Mbah was not intended to suggest, imply, or communicate that Comrade Iyere has endorsed Governor Peter Mbah, his administration, or any future political ambition associated with him.
We recognize that the placement of the photograph alongside the article may have led some readers to draw conclusions that were neither intended nor supported by the facts. For that reason, we wish to make the position clear.
The meeting between Governor Mbah and Comrade Iyere arose from a reconciliation effort following a period of disagreement between both men. The engagement was undertaken in the spirit of dialogue, mutual respect, and conflict resolution. It was not a political endorsement, alliance, partnership, or declaration of support.
Comrade Iyere remains fully entitled to his independent political views, public positions, convictions, and relationships with his supporters. Any interpretation that the photograph signified his endorsement of Governor Mbah or a departure from positions he has publicly held would be inaccurate.
Our publication was intended solely as a commentary on governance, accountability, and the role of citizens in democratic decision-making. It was never our intention to attribute any political position to Comrade Iyere or to create the impression that he had aligned himself with any political camp.
In the interest of fairness and accuracy, we hereby clarify the record and regret any misunderstanding that may have arisen from the use of the photograph.
We hold Comrade Iyere in high regard and respect his right to define his own political position without inference or assumption from third parties.
