Chief Uche Nnaji Celebrate Family Triumph and Political Momentum as 2027 Enugu Governorship Race Gains Strength
Chief Uche Nnaji has once again captured public attention as his family celebrates two remarkable milestones that reflect both personal excellence and growing political influence in Enugu State. From the successful graduation of his son in the United States to his advancement in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial process, the week has become a defining moment for the Nnaji family and supporters of the Nwakibie Movement.
In the United States, family members, friends, and members of the Ndi Enugu diaspora gathered to celebrate the graduation of Uche Nnaji Jr., whose academic achievements and leadership qualities earned admiration among colleagues and community leaders. Beyond his educational success, the young graduate distinguished himself through active involvement in the Afro-American Society, where he promoted values of equality, ethical leadership, entrepreneurship, and youth empowerment. His accomplishment has been described by many as a reflection of discipline, vision, and the strong values instilled by his family.
At the same time, political supporters in Enugu State celebrated Chief Uche Nnaji’s successful screening for the PDP gubernatorial primaries, a major development that strengthens his ambition to lead Enugu State into a new era of inclusive governance and economic transformation.
At the heart of his campaign is the “042 Agenda” under the Nwakibie Movement, a people-centered vision built around unity, development, and democratic participation. Using the symbolic “042” identity associated with Enugu, the movement seeks to reconnect government with the people through practical solutions that address infrastructure, economic growth, security, healthcare, education, transportation, and social welfare.
Chief Nnaji’s campaign has also continued to raise concerns over what it describes as the economic contradiction in Enugu State — a situation where citizens and businesses face increasing tax burdens despite limited visible impact on public living conditions. According to the movement, Enugu currently records one of the highest Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) figures in the Southeast, yet many small and medium-scale businesses continue to struggle under economic pressure, while public dissatisfaction grows over unemployment, infrastructure deficits, and rising indebtedness.
The Nwakibie Movement insists that governance must prioritize enterprise, reduce pressure on struggling businesses, encourage investment, and ensure that government revenue translates into tangible development for ordinary citizens.
Reaffirming his democratic ideals, Chief Uche Nnaji emphasized that democracy must protect freedom of expression, uphold the independence of the press, and guarantee the right of citizens to freely choose their leaders without intimidation or political suppression. He maintained that genuine leadership is built on inclusion, accountability, and service to the people rather than the imposition of one-party dominance.
Supporters believe the combination of family success, growing grassroots momentum, and a clearly defined political vision continues to strengthen Chief Nnaji’s position ahead of the 2027 political contest.
“Enugu remains the pride of Ndi Igbo,” the movement stated. “With unity, purpose, and people-oriented leadership, the state can rise again and reclaim its full potential.”
