“CAMPAIGN ON YOUR TRACK RECORD, NOT OBI’S NAME” — PROF. A.C. ONYIA REPRANDS DR. BEN NWOYE AND ENUGU APC OVER EMPTY RHETORIC

The political campaign strategy of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Enugu State has come under fierce academic and public condemnation following a direct intervention by Professor A.C. Onyia, a distinguished Political Science lecturer at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN).

Speaking on the floor of a campaign engagement in Uzo-Uwani, Prof. Onyia publicly called out former state party chairman Dr. Ben Nwoye and the APC leadership, demanding an immediate end to toxic, evasive campaign tactics and insisting on verifiable accountability for their tenure in office.

The primary issues highlighted in Prof. A.C. Onyia's reprimand include:

Evasion of Issue-Based Campaigning: Prof. Onyia challenged Dr. Ben Nwoye to stop obsessing over Peter Obi or engaging in hollow debates about who is "more Catholic," reminding the party that voters are interested in developmental metrics, not character assassination or religious posturing.

Zero Track Record in Uzo-Uwani: The political scientist pointedly asked the APC candidates to showcase a single tangible achievement delivered to the people of Uzo-Uwani Local Government Area over the past three and a half years of their administration.

Demand for Timelines and Execution Plans: Challenging the generic promises made by APC speakers, Prof. Onyia demanded that any future manifestos present clear, time-bound strategies explaining how promised projects will be funded and executed within a specific tenure.

Intellectual Bankruptcy in Party Strategy: The professor noted that the ruling party’s total reliance on personal attacks and distraction tactics proves they possess no solid achievement to campaign on, leaving them terrified of engaging in performance-based public debates.

Dropping Peter Obi’s name at political rallies cannot pave roads, build hospitals, or bring economic relief to Uzo-Uwani. Dr. Ben Nwoye and his party must face the electorate with concrete results, because Ndi Enugu are done listening to excuses and empty rhetoric.
