ATM Suspect Arrested in Enugu After Allegedly Targeting NSCDC Officer
A suspected ATM card fraudster has been apprehended in Enugu following what is being described as a failed attempt after he allegedly targeted the wrong victim.
According to preliminary reports, the suspect had successfully taken an ATM card and attempted to flee the scene, unaware that the card belonged to an operative of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
He was reportedly tracked and arrested shortly after the incident while attempting to escape. Security sources say the swift response led to his immediate apprehension before he could carry out any withdrawal or further transactions.
The incident has since drawn attention online, with residents describing it as a “wrong target” situation that quickly led to his arrest.
Authorities are expected to continue investigations to determine whether the suspect is linked to other similar incidents in the area.
The NSCDC is yet to issue an official statement on the matter as of the time of this report.
