Akpawfu/Ishienu Amagunze Ward Chairman Raises Alarm Over Alleged Threats to Life and Family

Concern has been raised over the safety and well-being of Hon. Chidi Animba Emmanuel, the Chairman of Akpawfu/Ishienu Amagunze Ward, following reports of alleged threats to his life and those of his family members.

According to information made available, Hon. Animba and his family have reportedly come under intense pressure and intimidation in the aftermath of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)'s suspension of an indigene of Akpawfu who contested and lost in the party's last governorship primary election in Enugu State.

Particularly troubling are reports that his elderly blind mother, along with other members of his family residing in Akpawfu, has also been subjected to threats, raising concerns about their safety and security.

In response to the situation, the matter has reportedly been brought to the attention of the relevant organs of the PDP, including the party's National Headquarters in Abuja. Stakeholders have been duly notified and urged to take immediate and appropriate measures to safeguard the lives of Hon. Animba and his family members, while ensuring that due process, peace, and democratic principles are upheld.

Observers have emphasized the need for political disagreements and party disciplinary matters to be handled within the confines of the law, without resorting to intimidation, threats, or actions that could endanger lives and undermine democratic values.
