ADC Clears Three Presidential Contenders Ahead of Nationwide Direct Primaries
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has announced the approval of three presidential contenders who will participate in its nationwide direct primaries scheduled for Monday.
According to the party, the exercise will take place across 8,809 wards nationwide, as part of preparations for the 2027 general elections.
Party officials say the direct primary format is designed to ensure broad participation of members at the grassroots level, allowing registered party members across the country to directly participate in selecting the party’s presidential candidate.
The approval of the three contenders marks a key milestone in the party’s internal election process, as it moves closer to presenting its flag bearer for the upcoming presidential race.
The ADC leadership has described the exercise as part of its commitment to internal democracy, transparency, and credible candidate selection ahead of the 2027 elections.
Further details on the names of the approved contenders and logistics of the primaries are expected to be officially released by the party before the exercise begins.
