ABIA GOVERNOR ALEX OTTI APPROVES MEDICAL SUPPORT FOR VETERAN NOLLYWOOD ACTRESS NGOZI NWOSU

Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, has approved payment for the first phase of medical expenses for veteran Nollywood actress, Mrs. Ngozi Nwosu, in a intervention to support the iconic thespian through an ongoing health challenge. The official approval comes shortly after the 62-year-old Abia-born actress made an emotional public appeal, revealing that she had been hospitalized for three weeks and urgently required approximately N30 million to cover the cost of three critical surgeries.

​The executive intervention was publicly confirmed by the Senior Special Assistant to the Abia State Governor on Tourism and Entertainment, Dr. Justice Okechukwu Martins (popularly known as JMartins). Writing via his official handle on X (formerly Twitter), the government aide expressed immense gratitude to Governor Otti for stepping in swiftly on behalf of the state government to alleviate the heavy financial burden associated with the legendary actress's medical treatment.

​While thanking Governor Otti on behalf of the creative industry, Dr. Justice Okey Martins clarified that the state's initial payment covers the first part of the total bill, emphasizing that additional assistance is still required to secure full treatment. Consequently, he appealed to well-meaning Nigerians, corporate organizations, and fans across the country to continue providing financial support for the beloved screen star. Ngozi Nwosu, renowned for her roles in classic Nigerian television series such as Fuji House of Commotion and hit films like Living in Bondage, remains one of the most celebrated figures in the history of Nollywood.
